Free WEEE Take-Back Scheme (UK Regulations 2013)
Under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013, retailers must offer free take-back of old electrical equipment on a 1-for-1 like-for-like basis:
- When you purchase a new power tool from biovertexa.com (e.g. an SDS drill or circular saw), you may return your old equivalent tool to us for free recycling within 28 days of purchase.
- Simply email rosazgs254zapata@outlook.com with your order number. We will provide a free returns label to our Maidenhead WEEE consolidation hub.
- The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on all products reminds consumers not to dispose of electrical items in domestic waste.
Waste Batteries & Accumulators Scheme (2009)
Lithium-ion power tool battery packs contain valuable cobalt, nickel, and lithium that must be reclaimed:
- Never place depleted power tool batteries in general household waste bins or skip bins.
- Biovertexa UK partners with authorized UK battery compliance schemes. Customers can deposit depleted tool batteries at our Maidenhead depot or locate their nearest free local civic amenity recycling center via Recycle More UK.
100% Recyclable Packaging & Plastic Reduction
In our Maidenhead dispatch facility:
Outer boxes are manufactured from 85%+ recycled post-consumer cardboard, 100% recyclable in UK paper waste.
We have phased out plastic PVC parcel tape in favour of water-activated biodegradable kraft paper tape.
Shock-absorbing packaging chips are 100% compostable and dissolve completely in water without microplastics.
Commitment to the Right to Repair
We champion tool longevity over planned obsolescence. Biovertexa UK stocks genuine manufacturer replacement parts — including carbon brushes, tool switches, replacement chucks, armatures, and rubber drive belts — allowing contractors to service and maintain workhorse machinery for decades.
Low-Carbon Courier Logistics
We partner with DPD and Royal Mail, both pioneers in green delivery networks. Over 30% of DPD delivery routes in major UK urban clean air zones (London ULEZ, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol) are operated by 100% electric delivery vans.
RoHS Hazardous Substance Elimination
All equipment complies with the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2012 (RoHS), ensuring zero banned concentrations of lead, mercury, cadmium, or polybrominated biphenyls.
Energy Efficiency & Smart Standby
Our cordless charger selection features microprocessor-controlled intelligent stage charging that switches to ultra-low watt standby mode as soon as the battery pack reaches 100% capacity, preventing unnecessary phantom grid power consumption.
